STEPS TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY,

___

Kindy was the first textile brand to sign up to Max Havelaar labelling and
the Nicolas Hulot environmental agreement in 2001.

Things have progressed and continue to progress since this decision was made :

- Eco-design with the support of ADEME
- Launch of a line of products made from organic cotton
- Development of socks made from vegetable fibres (bamboo fibre and
LENPUR cellulose fibre from the Canadian white pine)
- New 2010 range: “Socks for the Planet”
- Control of organic dyes since 1999
- For coloured threads, regulated, non-azo dyes are used
- Packaging and inserts made from paper from sustainably managed forests (FSC and Imprim’Vert label)
- Use of recycled paper and cardboard
- Vegetable inks, use of more environmentally-friendly acrylic lacquer
- Logistics optimisation (eco-logistics)
- Lower packaging weight, reduction of volumes throughout chain
enabling reduction of CO² emissions
